Why does his mother regret allowing him to attend boarding school?
The mother regrets her son going to boarding because of their relationship was being torn away from each other. He was her favorite child, and wanted the best education for him as she had the opportunity to get the best for herself.
He recalls one day when he was washing the rice in the kitchen she had mentioned to him that she made a comment in regards to him attending boarding school. With regret she said I made a mistake in sending you to boarding school.. He had asked her why did you send me to "Exeter?" Her answer was "Because I didn't know I was going to die." Then she said to him you know what it was better for you son. If you stayed home, you would not like me so much now.
This was a truly love story between mother and son. You want the best for you child and she thought she was doing the right thing for her son.
I agree with you. His mother did regret sending him to boarding school. I think it was because she wished she had used that time to spend with him instead of him being away. When you are about to die I'm sure you wished you wasted no time in your life. However, his mother was proud of that school and the fact that he was getting a good education.
ReplyDeleteHi Frankie,
ReplyDeleteFor the most part parents just want to privide the right opportunities and the best life that they can provide for their children. In some situations it may not be the best for them however parents can only try and do thier best. Luckily in this situation even though the mother felt that her choice for her son put a strain on their relationship they were able to work it out and get past it.
